Nash Athlete Of The Week – Rhaina Henderson

Congratulations to Rhaina Henderson, Senior at Winterset High School, our Nash Athlete of the Week!

“Rhaina is involved in Cross Country ,soccer, basketball, cheerleader, 4H, music, drama and student council. She also works at the Blank Park Zoo as a camp counselor in the summers. She plans on attending Northwest Missouri State after graduation. Majoring in elementary and special education.” Nominated by her Grandfather, Ron Shaffer

“In the fall, she ran cross country, returning from an injury last season. It was a slow start, but she made the varsity team to go to Districts and PR’ed. The team qualified for State, and she again beat her best time. She received Academic All-State honors as a State Meet runner in their Senior year with a 3.80+ GPA. At the same time, she was participating in rec soccer and the high school musical production. In the spring, she will finish her high school athletic career with her favorite sport, soccer. She was awarded Utility Player of the Year for her team in 2022 and 2023. She was also awarded a varsity letter, Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union Distinguished in Academic Achievement, and Raccoon River Conference Academic All-Conference all three years she has played. She will graduate this spring with 28 dual-credit hours from DMACC and is ranked in the top 95% of her class with a 3.977 GPA.  Outside of school, she is very involved in the 4-H program, mentoring younger archers and dog and horse project members. She is in her second year as president of her 4-H club and was the treasurer for two years before that. She has also been the secretary for two years for the Senior High Youth Council.” – Mom, Kylee Henderson
